Solvent Extraction Plants
Equipment designed and supplied by CPM SKET is available for solvent extraction.
Oil extraction by use of solvents is a traditional method of oil production. Maximum oil yield rates are possible through initial seed preparation and de-oiling of seed in pre-presses to a residual-oil content of some 16 - 21%. This process is followed by oil extraction with solvent. The solvent used is n-hexane in most cases. The plant is completed by solvent recovery from the hexane-oil mixture (miscella), solvent-containing meal and solvent-containing waste air. Seed with low oil content is directly extracted without any pre-pressing.
