Presses
CPM SKET designs and supplies screw presses for the following applications:
- Cold pressing
- Warm pressing for single finish-pressing, pre-pressing and post-pressing plus pre-pressing
Cold Presses
Cold presses are designed for single finish-pressing without seed preheating or pressing at low temperatures. The cold press processes cleaned seed crushed according to its type or uncrushed feedstock. The seed processing temperature must be at least between 15 -20°C.
The cold press is designed as barrel-type screw press with vertically split hinged barrel. The adjustable metering screw ensures even seed supply to the press.
The reduction in volume results in pressure build-up inside the press section so that the extracted oil leaves the slots provided on barrel circumference. The foots-laden extracted crude oil is delivered to the crude-oil cleaning section. The oil cake leaves the screw press through an adjustable conical annular cross-section so that it may be discharged in this process stage.
The press is driven by one three-phase motor with spur or planetary gearing with integral axial bearing of screw shaft. Wear parts for the horizontal press section are supplied in armoured design. Cost-effective regeneration of such parts is possible. Wear parts may be supplied in hardened design on request.

Finish Presses
Designed for single finish-pressing without following extraction. Conversion of finish presses to get pre-presses is easy without any problems.
The finish press processes cleaned, crushed and hydro-thermally prepared seed. The press may be combined with stack cookers of different sizes so that it is fit for conditioning. In case several presses are in service, central conditioning through horizontal dryers is possible.
The conditioned seed heated to pressing temperature leaves the conditioner through a variable-speed discharge screw and is delivered by the tamper device to the screw press.
The reduction in volume results in pressure build-up in the pressing section so that the extracted oil flows through the slots distributed over the barrel circumference. The foots-laden extracted oil collected in the oil pan is delivered to the crude-oil cleaning section. The oil cake leaves the screw press through an adjustable conical annular cross-section and may be discharged in this process stage. The cake crusher is available as option and may be supplied as integral part for pre-crushing of oil cake in the press.
The finish press is designed as barrel-type screw press with vertically split hinged barrel. The press is driven by one three-phase motor with high-efficiency and low-noise planetary gear. The tamper device helps to pre-compact the substance in the vertical inlet stack already so that continuous optimum barrel filling is ensured.
The wear parts for the horizontal press section are supplied in armoured design. Cost-efficient regeneration of such parts is possible.
The screw shaft is supported in two bearings in the press frame. The shaft may be cooled with water so that the oil cake is protected from excessive temperatures.

Pre-Presses
Designed for pre-pressing in preparation of following extraction or as pre-stage for secondary pressing operation.
The pre-press processes cleaned, crushed and hydro-thermally prepared seed. The press may be combined with stack cookers of different sizes so that it is fit for conditioning. In case several presses are in service, central conditioning through horizontal dryers is possible.
The conditioned seed heated to pressing temperature leaves the conditioner through a variable-speed discharge screw and is delivered through the tamper device to the screw press.
The reduction in volume results in pressure build-up in the pressing section so that the extracted oil flows through the slots distributed over the barrel circumference. The foots-laden extracted oil collected in the oil pan is delivered to the crude-oil cleaning section. Oil cake leaves the screw press through an adjustable conical annular cross-section and will be delivered to the further process stages.
The pre-press is designed as barrel-type screw press with vertically split hinged barrel. The press is driven by one three-phase motor with high-efficiency and low-noise planetary gear.
The wear parts for the horizontal press section are supplied in armoured design. Cost-efficient regeneration of such parts is possible.
The screw shaft is supported in two bearings in the press frame. The shaft may be cooled with water so that the oil cake is protected from excessive temperatures.
